Maison Maes is constantly on the lookout to identify new materials that are ever more innovative, of constantly finer quality, and increasingly better for the environment.
For its first collection, the brand has chosen cactus leather, an amazing biomaterial that requires neither the toxic products nor the astronomical quantities of water required to make traditional leather. Its carbon footprint is obviously paltry by comparison, and there is no longer any question of cruelty to animals.
Maison Maes' responsible commitment is also to design bags and accessories that are durable over time.
While quality of materials is essential, quality of design and manufacture is just as important. Each bag and small accessory is designed by expert hands and subject to rigorous quality control at every stage of its manufacture.
A repair service is available when needed, throughout the life of the product.
TRACEABILITY & CIRCULARITY
Maison Maes is also committed to certifying the origin and composition of its products and thus facilitating their circularity.
A Goods.ID digital certificate attached to each bag of the House makes it possible to guarantee its authenticity thanks to Blockchain technology, to identify the original information (composition, workshop in which it was made, serial number, etc.) and to follow it at each stage of its life (change of ownership, possible repair, etc).
Today, offering recycled and recyclable packaging is obvious. Yet we must be aware that recycling is not neutral for the planet.
While every Maison Maes product is accompanied by a GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified organic cotton pouch to protect it, the House invites moderation by offering each customer the opportunity to order without a gift box.
