The M1_02 is a clutch with a chain derived from the first handbag, the M1_01, created by our designer, who likes to draw her inspiration in the Constructivism and Art Deco movements. First imagined as the perfect evening companion, it can also accommodate the essentials of everyday life. Its flap is decorated with the Double M monogram and symmetrical diagonal quilted stitching reminding us of the artistic movements dear to our designer.

Thanks to its elegant brass chain with two snap hooks, the M1_02 clutch can be worn in multiple ways, on the shoulder or carried by hand. Its interior comprises a main compartment, an inner pocket with zipper and six card slots. The lock, chain and all other metal parts are made in brass, plated with RJC-certified 24-carat gold.

Material & Care

The black M1_02 clutch is made in M_MAT_cactus, a cactus-based alternative to leather with stunning look and feel. As resistant and durable as leather, this material also delivers a significantly-lower carbon footprint.

Taking care of your clutch in M_MAT_cactus is very easy. No need to use any product to nourish and preserve it like leather. You can however clean it with a soft cloth moistened with clear water.
When you are not using your clutch, we suggest that you pad it with tissue paper to preserve its shape and store it in its protective pouch to protect it from light and humidity.

We sublimate the beauty of our vegan materials by putting them into the hands of renowned artisans which only partner with the most prestigious brands.

We exclusively craft our models in France, in limited series. The M1_02 clutch is handmade in our workshop located in the south of France, in the Tarn region.

All our handbags and small leather goods are crafted using traditional savoir-faire. The edges are hand-painted.

Lifetime warranty

Each Maison Maes handbag comes with a digital authenticity certificate, secured with Blockchain technology. It gathers all the original information (composition, workshop in which it was made, serial number, etc.) and follows it at each stage of its life (change of ownership, possible repair, etc).

Our handbags and small leather goods are designed to withstand the test of time, thanks to our strong requirements on materials and to the quality and savoir-faire of our artisans.
But in case of undetected defect or abnormal wear, we offer warranty without any limit in time for any handbags and a 3-year warranty for any small leather goods.

With our artisans, we will always favor repairing a product. But if it is necessary, we could replace it for an identical product or an equivalent if the original model is no longer available. It will also help us to ensure the recycling of any product is properly executed.
